Veils of Cirrus - The Shirtfront Pearl
Introducing the Shirtfront in the Pearl colourway. This garment is a re-creation of an American mens 'dickey' (or detachable tuxedo front) from 1839, sourced from the Met Museum archives.
The Shirtfront is constructed from a locally sourced deadstock rayon taffeta - a breathable regenerated wood pulp fibre that has a silk-like crisp hand. It is lined with a soft cotton voile and finished with a silver buckle halter neck closure; a silver toggle closure at the chest to keep the bust comfortably contained; and a simple tie at the back of the waist.
FABRIC COMPOSITION:
Main: rayon taffeta (sourced from local deadstock supplier)
Lining: cotton voile
Alternate 1 (ruff panels): cotton poplin
Fastenings: silver metal buckle and silver toggle/bar clasp
CARE INSTRUCTIONS:
Cold gentle handwash. Hang on the line to dry. Gentle press on the underside of fabric with a low-to-medium steam iron.
Spot bleaching is okay if necessary though will likely discolour the cream lining. Please contact us if you have any questions about how to best care for your garment.
